Hi, I thought I'd just drop in and leave this funny little anecdote to help you all make it through your work week. Plus, mommy might forget to have me add the story to the blog, if we wait for the weekend to share my tails. (Ha-ha-ha....get it? TAILS.)
Last night mommy went out to dinner with grandmom and Aunt Ida, leaving Pooka, Cro`i and me by ourselves. I have no idea what Pooka and Cro`i were up to, because they hung out upstairs, only to check on me from time to time. I was just chilling in the family room, listening to the show tunes channel. Anyway, mommy was real thoughtful, stopping home after she ate to pick me up to go to the puppy store. We were out of wee-wee pads, and mommy wanted to try a new floor cleaner. So we ran our errands....and I fell asleep driving the truck. What I mean is, I fell asleep on mommy's seat, pressed against her leg while SHE drove the truck. When we got home, mommy had to carry me in to the house, as she didn't put my leash on, and I was too tired anyway to walk.
Mommy unlocked the door, and Pooka and Cro`i were there waiting for us. Mommy put me with them, and instructed us NOT to come out. Then she went to get the case of wee-wee pads. When she came back, and opened the door-Pooka and me were trying to scoot out. It was a very warm night, and we wanted to go play. Well....POOKA did it FIRST. He snuck out even after mommy told him NO. He likes to escape out the front door, and go under this big window and play & hide. So mommy told me to stay in the house, and she was trying to get him in. She threatened him with a *giggles* bubble bath, but he didn't care. So then she figured I could do the little-sister-thing and tag along, making him want to go inside. So she brought me out and told me to go get Pooka. And off I went. I went right to where he was, but he didn't mind one bit! In fact, mommy actually worried that she'd never get either of us inside. Pooka and I decided to play peek-a-boo with one another. He was on one side of a rock, and me on the other. He'd peer over the rock at me, and I'd crouch down. Then I'd per over the rock at him, and he'd crouch down. Finally we got tired of playing, and Pooka decided to jump on the stoop and go in. Well mommy was relieved, and called me to come in too.
But we didn't let her (our mommy) off the hook so easily. Pooka went inside, and as I was about to go in, Cro`i hopped out, not wanting to miss out on our night-time adventure! At this point, I think mommy was going to cry, because she was tired and wanted to just go in and rest and we were having too much fun. So once again, mommy sent me off to go get Cro`i in to the house, and off under the window I went. Cro`i was a bit easier to get in the house, but then I ran around the front lawn by myself...and mommy let me have an extra minute because she was so hot.
When grandmom and Aunt Ida got home mommy told them all about what went on. I couldn't believe she ratted us out! But by that time mommy was laughing, and very tired. She needed mommy time, and went upstairs, leaving Aunt Ida to do the dirty work. Or should I say clean work? Because whenever Pooka and Cro`i escape outside, they get washed because they sleep on mommy's bed with her. And that was our adventure! I hope Pooka will play with me again like that, it was sure fun!

All you need is Love and Love equals LOLA
It seems like we go to the puppy doctor every week. They weigh me, and lately I've been getting shots in my butt too. I do not like the shots AT ALL. But Dr. Hamilton says it is to protect me from germs passed from puppy to puppy, raccoon pee, and just puppy stuff. They still hurt though and I cry. Actually when the needle goes in my butt, I stand still and don't say a word. It's when the needle comes out of my little tush that I whimper like the dickens. As of April 11th, I weighed 4.7 pounds. The doctor didn't say anything about me being a chub-o this time though...so bring on the treats! He is also keeping an eye of my itchies...as I still have them. They also checked out my poops again, and it appears that the coccidia is still in me. :o( So I am still on Albon to knock that icky parasite out of me once and for all. I finish my Albon treatment tomorrow, and we'll go through the waiting process again to see if it's gone. Dr. Hamilton also advised mommy to give me baby benadryll to help with the itchies...as my skin scraping keep coming up negative for demodex (skin parasite.) I think all these words are way too big for a puppy to take in, and understand. So I get this baby benadryll stuffs which is supposed to taste like cherries, but I think is DIS-GUST-ING! Mommy is to keep an eye on the scratching, and if it don't stop then I get some kind of dip. I wanted to know if it was a sour cream and onion dip, or more like a garden vegetable dip....but no one wanted to hear my question.
I had a play date last Tuesday with Mojo. He's really nice! He shared his kibble and water with me....and we chased one another silly. I kept jumping in his bed and barking at him. All the grown-ups thought it was funny. Then I went to dance class and visited with the ladies there. Everyone professes their love of me. Today I get babysat by my two best uncles...Nelson & Peter. Mommy, Aunt Ida and grandmom are going to some family thing...and don't want to leave me home alone with the cats. I hear Pooka and Cro`i are having a rave at the house while we're all out...but don't tell our mom. I also promise to update my blog weekly, as I intended to. Just my nose gets tired from hitting all the keys on the keyboard. So until next time......go with my motto: ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE.

Lola knows she is the Princess of Port Jefferson
Ha...ha...ha, I am not going to grace you with a photo of me this week. And I know you're all wondering why no photo. Well, aside from the fact that mommy didn't see any good photo opportunities with her camera, it's always best to leave the public wanting more. So I promise you next entry I will be back with at least on photo of me.
I'm sure you must be wondering what's new with Lola, puppy of Lakewood Ave. The one keeping the family on their toes. Well, as usual I had quite the busy week. And it also appears that my presence is in high demand. Mommy has dance class on Tuesday nights, and the lovely ladies who are in her class are itching for me to come down and visit them again. So this week, Aunt Ida is going to coerce grandmom in to taking me down to visit them. *Cocks head to side*, hey what can i say....I need to offer the ladies a break from their rigorous routines by prancing around in MY Tu-Tu.
This past Wednesday Grandmom, Aunt Ida and I went to visit mommy at work, and took her to Starbucks for some much needed java. I was able to meet my 'Godfather' Ian, who is very, very, very tall. That weird guy Fred, and see some of the other people who have to be locked in a unfun building with my mom all day long. When we dropped mom back at the office, I left the company a 'little present' in the parking lot. Mommy laughed, and didn't mind until she thought she saw some blood in my poopies. Then she got nervous, because of the parasite thingy I seem to be fighting.
Speaking of that whole parasite issue..... I finished my antibiotics on 4/1/08. Mom and the family was so impressed with how well I took my medicine. Mommy didn't have to force me. It tasted sooooooooo good, I'd like the outside of the syringe (because of excess medicine), then place the end of the syringe in my mouth MYSELF. So, anywho...mommy has kind of been on pins and needles worrying about what the vet would say when we saw him. On Friday, 4/4/08 we went to the puppy doctor, and this time it was a man doctor. He was really old....and didn't have the best people skills. But he seemed to know what he was talking about when discussing things with mommy and grandmom. BUT, and get a load of this....he said I am getting pudgy, because I weigh 3.6 pounds. Between office visits, I gained 1.6 pounds. He is against my family giving me wet foods, wants me to cut back on treats, and tried to scare mommy and grandmom about the dangers of fat pets. My sister Cro`i is skinny, but what if this doctor saw Pooka? He'd be in deep doo-doo.
I've also been scratching A LOT. Like to the point where my little furs are coming off. SO mommy told the doctor, who took a sample of my skin off my ear. He was looking for bugs, but said I was not skinny-buggy. He told mom and grandmom to watch my scratching. Mommy has given me oatmeal bathes, but they don't help too much. The doctor then gave me two shots in my butt to keep me healthy, and then we go back to see him again next Friday, 4/11/08. From there the will retest my poop to check on the tummy parasite. And probably weigh me again. *Snort*. Because of my insistent scratching, mommy has decided to change my food from Science Diet, to a 'spensive food called Wellness. She thinks maybe I was allergic to the Science Diet.
Yesterday was loads of fun, as I was out and about on the town. There's a seaport place on Long Island called Port Jefferson. Mommy likes to go there, and has a friend Jaret who owns a shop there too. It's called Enchanted Indigo, and you can see it on-line at: www.enchantedindigo.com So we went to visit Jaret, who took tons of photos of me, bought some stuffs there, then walked to a great place to eat called Toast to visit a waiter who was itching to meet me. We also went to an a-mazing store for pets called Fetch which has awesome, awesome, pawsome stuffs for dogs and cats. Mommy and Aunt Ida bought a spray to help with the itchies, and a little sundress for me. Of course my dress is pink, has polka dots, and says LOVE on it. So many Port Jefferson visitors and residents commented on how cute I am, asked questions about me, and two little girls even asked to take a photo with me. Yes, I am adored and cherished....my cuteness supersedes everything.
Today was another day out and about as I went to get my new food. Then the family smuggled me in to Wal-Mart, and as I hid in my carry bag...under mommy's coat, I played SECRET AGENT as they shopped. I met an old family friend of the family's there named Gino. He seemed nice enough. Mommy and Aunt Ida then bought me yet another adorable outfit, so you just know I will be the best dressed pup in town. What can I say? I love to shop. After Wal-Mart we went to visit my Uncle Pat and his family and I hung out there for some time. (I even tinkled on the floor in the Florida room.) *Tucks tail* Sorry Cousin Dee.
And that's it! Tomorrow I will officially be three months old. And it will be a whole new week for me to have adventures, get in to some sort of trouble....and just continue to be adored. Tune in next time......same puppy blog.....same puppy time.
